A loan of $725 helped to buy fruits, meat, and vegetables to prepare her food and cold drinks.

Giovanna's story

Giovanna is married to Edmar, and they have a daughter with whom they live in their own house made from very basic materials. Giovanna sells food and ice-cold drinks, which are prepared from fruit. She sells from a stand on the banks of the river. She has been selling in this place for 15 years. In all of this time she has managed to acquire good customers.

Every day she sells a good average of 30 to 40 cold drinks. However, she says that in the months of August, September, and October she sells in greater quantities, and her income increases significantly. She now wishes to set up her business to be able to generate more earnings. She needs to take advantage of the season when she sells more. Also, the road to her community has been fixed, and she has a greater flow of tourists who also consume the products that she sells every day.

This is her second Kiva loan. She is grateful for the financial support she is getting in order to get ahead. She pledges to make her payments punctually. Giovanna will use the 2,000 to buy fruits, meat, and vegetables to prepare her food and cold drinks.
