Believe In God Group's story

In the photo are members of the “Believe in God” group, from the township of Lunsar in northern Sierra Leone. This group of entrepreneurs has come to SMT, a partner of Kiva.org, to apply for a loan of SLL 2,500,000 (SLL 500,000 for each). With the help of this loan, they will be able to add more inventory to their respective businesses. This will attract more customers, increase sales and profit, and consequently improve their standard of living.

Zainab is the featured leader of this group. The 50-year-old woman is a native of Lunsar town. She is married to a driver, and the couple has five children. Two of their children are attending primary schools, and three are in secondary schools. Zainab sells palm oil. She has been doing business for many years, now. Zainab is going to use her share of this loan to buy gallons of palm oil to add to her current stock.
