Sountongnooma De Virginie Group's story

Virginie is responsible for the Sountongnooma de Virginie group. She is married and mother to three children. The eldest is 23 years old and the youngest 13. They all go to school.

Virginie has been selling juices ("bissap" - made from hibiscus flowers, "zoom koom" - made from millet and zinzimbre, etc.) for the past six years. She gets her supplies at Paglayiiri market and inn Koukin Yaar. Her customers are students, neighbors and friends.

She would like to buy a sack of sugar, five dishes of millet, five dishes of bissap and three dishes of monkey bread.

Virginie would like to save a small part of her profits for her own needs and use the rest to boost her business. Her ambition is to expand her business and if possible open a shop to sell "pagnes" (highly decorative fabrics) and also to ensure a better education for her children.

In this group: Virginie, Rasmata, Habibou, Rihanta, Awa, Bintou
