Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Morine's story

Morine lives in Kampala, Uganda, and is single with three children. All her children go to school. She takes care of other additional family members.

She sells second hand clothes at the market on a retail basis. She has been in business for the last 7 years and she works seven days a week. She has no other source of income.

She has requested from MCDT – SACCO a loan of 500,000 UGX to buy a bale of used clothes. Her major challenge is seasonality and transportation. She lives in a rented house and her family has access to piped water and electricity. Her goal and aspiration is to educate her children to the university level.
