Nasreen's story

Nasreen is a 47-year-old married woman living with her spouse and nine children in the area of Lahore, Pakistan. Her husband owns a butcher shop; he earns sufficient income for his family. Recently, he spent a huge part of his income to pay utility bills, which discouraged his purchasing power for new inventory of his butcher shop. He tried to take a loan from banks and other organizations, but he does not have any property against security. Nasreen requested a loan of 50,000 PKR (Pakistani rupees) from Kiva’s field partner BRAC Pakistan because the BRAC Pakistan provided the facility to empower poor people without asking about assets. Nasreen wants to provide higher education to her children. She dreams to provide all facilities of life to her children. She is very thankful to BRAC Pakistan.
