A loan of $1,475 helped to purchase soy milk and cheese for resale.

Fidencia Del Pilar's story

The members of the Rocafuerte Community Bank meet every fifteen days in the canton of Rocafuerte. This area is known for the delicious sweets made by the locals. These products are recognized throughout all of Ecuador.

Fidencia lives in this area. She is a 53-year-old married woman with three children. One of them still lives with her even though he is engaged. Her husband is a vendor.

She is a great homemaker and also has a business selling soy milk and cheese from her home. Her customers come to her day after day to buy her delicious products. Three times per week she buys her cheese at wholesale. It is sent to her from Chone. She then sells it by the pound from her home. She works every day from 7 am to 5 pm. She works on her own since the work is not too difficult. She has been doing this work for 17 years and has thus been able to provide her children with a better life.

This loan will be used to buy soy milk and cheese. Fidencia has been a member of this communal bank for five years. She appreciates the ease with which she can obtain loans, and she is grateful for the support they provide to assist her in meeting her goals.

Her dream is to have a car.
