A loan of $900 helped to buy corn and lime to make tortillas and to buy and sell tortillas.

Candelaria's story

Candelaria Candelaria, who is 50, has been selling tortillas and catalogue goods for six years. She runs her business from her home in Vista Hermosa and, in the afternoon, sells her lotions and cosmetics around her neighbourhood. She needs another loan to buy corn, firewood and lime to make her tortillas and to stock up on catalogue goods. She has other people who help her to sell her goods and her customers know where she lives so they can come and buy from her. Her ambition is to continue increasing her sales and, as a result, provide for her children - her first priority being giving them an education. She is grateful to the institution and to Kiva for putting their trust in her. She thanks them for their help and sends them God's blessing, wherever they may be.
