Sanniquelle, Liberia / Food Market

A loan of $325 helped to purchase more oil for her business.

Layvah's story

Layvah lives in Sanniquelle, the capital city of Nimba County, which is rich in nature resources. Living conditions are much better than in the capital city of Liberia, and it is the second largest populated county in Liberia.

Layvah is 40 years old. She did not go to school, and she is unmarried. She has a 20-year-old child who lives at home. With a little money from her fiancee, who works with WFP, she managed to establish her business three years ago. She learned this way of selling from her friends. She spends 10 hours [a day] on her business, from Monday to Saturday. One problem she faces is her small income. She is requesting a loan to purchase more oil for her business. Her dream is to own a house.
