Lucy is 42 years old and she lives in Sanniquelle, the capital city of Nimba County, which is rich in natural resources and where the living conditions are much better than in the capital city of Liberia. It is the second most populous county in Liberia.
Lucy stopped her education at 4th grade and she grew up in the rural areas of Sanniquelle. She is traditionally married: her husband is a farmer and they both have seven children. Her children are between ages 19 and 16. She said that three of her children are in school and they all live at home.
Lucy received a small amount of money from her husband to establish her business seven years ago; she has been running a small local shop where she makes and sells local soap, palm oil etc., she spends 10 hours a day on her business, from Monday to Saturday. One problem she faces is low income. She will use the loan to purchase more soap, palm oil, caustic soda, etc. for her business. Her plan is to one day build a modern house. She thanks the lenders for their support.
