A loan of $2,300 helped to get a second job as a driver.

Mirian's story

Mirian is 20 years old and a single man living with his uncle and brother in the village of Orbeli. He installs satellite television dishes in his district. He gets a small monthly salary and is the only one earning money in his household.

Mirian would like to work as a driver for the company as well. There is a vacancy for drivers, but owning a car is a necessary condition for this position.

Mirian applied for a 2300 USD loan through Credo. His loan request was approved within the framework of the Start-Up program, a joint initiative with Kiva that permits the rural poor to start or re-start businesses.

This loan will help Mirian buy a secondhand car and enable him to fill the driver opening. This means he will have an additional position in the company and double the salary. It is obvious that this will be hard for Mirian, but he is ready to deal with the difficulties as he’s a very enthusiastic and hardworking person with a great desire to get ahead.

This loan will be a great help for the family. Mirian is thankful to Kiva lenders for giving him a chance to make more money.
