Anwbene Ii Group's story

The ten members of the group "ANWBENE II" are married women, who average 41 years of age and five children each. The women live for the most part in polygamous families in Kokougrou, a village in Commune de Guégnaka, Préfecture de Dioïla, in Région de Koulikoro (2nd administrative region of the Republic of Mali). The women are collaborating with the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso with the goal of better organizing their work at the start of the rainy season. And they are on their seventh collaboration with the institution. The crops grown are peanuts, millet, and beans.

With this loan, Assitan, who is the second person standing from the right in the photo, intends to purchase farm inputs and sundry equipment and to cover the cost of plowing to maintain 1 hectare of millet and peanuts.

After the harvest, the produce is sold in Fana City to men and women customers. She hopes to make an average profit of about 95,000 francs CFA per planting.
