Luz Marina es una mujer de 49 años de edad, es casada y madre de 2 hijos. Actualmente se dedica a la confección, actividad que realiza hace aproximadamente 25 años, en el año 1994 inició su propio taller, generando 2 empleos fijos; gracias a esto y al apoyo de su esposo ha podido sacar adelante a sus hijos. Es una persona trabajadora y dedicada, con mucho esfuerzo ha sacado adelante su negocio, a pesar que los ingresos son inestables, porque en ciertas temporadas del año bajan las ventas. Ya ha tenido once ciclos de crédito con la Corporación y con el que solicita actualmente desea comprar insumos al por mayor (telas, hilos, botones) y realizará mantenimiento de las máquinas, con el fin de poder tener variedad que satisfaga los gustos de sus clientes y ofrecerles mejor calidad en el producto terminado. Su principal sueño es incrementar sus ingresos para poder adquirir una casa propia y ofrecer mejor bienestar y calidad de vida a la familia.

This loan is structured on Kiva as a bullet loan, which means a single payment is required at the end of the loan term. By Colombian law, Kiva's partner Interactuar is required to offer borrowers loans with a variable interest rate that fluctuates with the market rate. Because fixed monthly payments are applied first to interest and then to principal, Interactuar is unable to predict upfront what portion of each repayment would go towards the loan principal. This creates a challenge with Kiva's system, which doesn't allow for unpredictable principal payments, and can result in some Interactuar clients appearing falsely delinquent. To remedy this, the loan has an end-of-term repayment plan on Kiva, but the borrower will continue scheduled monthly repayments to Interactuar, who will then pass along the principal amount to Kiva lenders. This means that you may see repayments made on this loan throughout the repayment term, as opposed to receiving repayment in full at the end of the loan term.
