Hilda Idalí's story

Hilda Idalí is a 35-year-old separated woman with two children who are 10 and 14 years of age. She was born in the south of Bolívar and came to the town of Yarumal 15 years ago in search of better opportunities. She started her beauty salon there, an activity she’s been doing for several years now having trained in a beauty academy; she also sells merchandise and beauty products. She’s a very enterprising, hardworking woman who strives daily to earn income needed to support her children and her home overcoming all the challenges that competition and the rainy season create that lead to a drop in sales.

She’s currently asking for her 6th loan from the Corporation that she will use to buy supplies, merchandise and work tools (brushes, hair color, clippers, scissors, clothes, accessories) to continue providing excellent service and offering variety to her customers to continue being well-known in her sector and to generate higher income. Her main dream is to have a locale of her own so she can offer employment opportunities and better quality of life for her family.
