Alfredo José's story

The “Mujeres Emprendedoras de Olmedo” (Enterprising Women from Olmedo) communal bank meets in Olmedo Canton every fifteen days. This place is noted for its beautiful scenery and for its hardworking people dedicated to agriculture and animal husbandry.

Alfredo, 23, lives here. He’s single living in his parents’ house. He’s been in the communal bank for two years and likes it because his fellow members are a lot of fun and the loans are of great help to him.

Alfredo has a motorcycle repair shop that’s very busy because he’s very good at what he does. In addition to offering his services as a mechanic he also sells oil, tires and all sorts of spare parts and accessories for motorcycles. He works Monday to Saturday and if a customer requires it even on Sundays. He’s been in business more than three years. He used to work in a shop in another city where he learned everything he knows which now makes it possible for him to get ahead by means of his work.

This loan is to buy tires, oil and other spare parts. He’s been in the communal bank for two years and likes it because the loans are approved quickly and they help him much. His dream is to enlarge his shop more.
