A loan of $900 helped to purchase a bag of seeds, two gallons of beans, two liters of pesticides, and ten bags of manure.

Edwin Misael's story

Edwin is 25 and lives with his two daughters and their mother. He has been a farmer since he was 12, having learned from his father. Today Edwin wishes to keep farming as he can earn a living and support his family.

Edwin and his partner also have a store that she manages; he helps her in the store after he comes home from work. To meet all of his daily responsibilities on time, Edwin has to wake up at five a.m. and then drive six hours to where the land he works. He comes home at the end of the day to spend time with his daughters.

To purchase farming supplies, Edwin has to ride in the back of a pickup truck for an hour.

Edwin is requesting a loan from the Fundación Campo to purchase a bag of seeds, two gallons of beans, two liters of pesticides, and ten bags of manure. With the proper inputs, Edwin will have time to preserve his harvest so he won't suffer losses. He's already used savings to invest in his farm.

Edwin's dream is for his daughters to study. He also hopes to be able to purchase land and build his own home, as he now lives in his mother-in-law's house.
