The entrepreneurial bank Santa Maria consists of eight members, all women. The president of the bank is Señora Juana, who is 54 years old. She makes and sells bread. Her bakery is located in the El Torno district. She is a new client of this institution, since this is her first loan cycle. Señora Juana is going to use this loan to buy ingredients for making bread, such as flour, lard, and leavening, wholesale. Señora Juana is a person with the will to achieve. She is happy and grateful to the institution for the support offered her, since this is the only activity [she has] that allows her to support herself and her family.
