A loan of $500 helped to buy clothes and footwear for resale.

Sithabile's story

Greetings from Zimbabwe! This is 36-year-old Sithabile from Bulawayo. She is married and has two children, and both are attending school.

Sithabile runs a retail business selling clothes, footwear and blankets. The business has been in operation for four years. She says the main challenges faced are stiff competition from larger retailers who offer credit facilities and high import duty.

Sithabile has requested a loan of $500 to replenish stocks. She wants to buy kids’ tracksuits, jeans, jackets, woolen hats, and clothes for resale. She says the extra income generated as a result of this loan will allow her to improve the welfare of her family.

In the future, Sithabile plans to open a clothing boutique.
