Mena's story

Mena is a small-scale maize porridge seller in Aburansa (near Cape Coast). She has had some formal education as a junior high school graduate. She is married and has four children. Her husband is a tailor. Mena has been working as a maize porridge vendor for close to four years. Her income is used to help her husband pay the utility bills and their children’s school fees. She plans on using her loan to purchase more maize, allowing her to meet rising customers’ demand. She hopes to use the profits from her enterprise to develop her business further and ensure that all her children receive an education.
