Esha is a divorced woman blessed with two children who attend school. She owns a house that has neither electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food and school fees.
Esha cooks food for sale at the market and sells to town dwellers and passersby. She cites food leftovers as her challenge. She dreams of establishing a café business in the future.
With the KES 20,000 she wants to purchase beans, rice, wheat flour, maize flour, sugar and cooking oil. She decided to join Yehu to access financial support to expand her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
