A loan of $600 helped a member to buy fertilizers for her farmland.

Chanthy's Group's story

A resident from a rural village of the Moung Russey district, Chanthy is a 23-year-old mother of one son. The main source of the family’s income is from rice farming on 5 hectares of farmland, which she has been doing for one year. With her current business, she can earn about 51,000 KHR (Cambodian riels) per day to spend for daily expenses.

This is the third loan for Chanthy with Kiva's partner VisionFund. She successfully paid back the loan with VisionFund. Now she is leading her group of two to apply for a loan. As the leader, she will use her portion to buy fertilizers for her farmland. She hopes this loan will enable her to increase her income so as to improve her standard of living.
