A loan of $275 helped a member to buy materials for building a decent latrine.

Sambo's Group's story

Sambo, 43, is widowed. She lives in a rural area of Kandal province's Ponhea Leur district, Cambodia. Rice- and snack-selling have been her main sources of income for 10 years. The current business earns her approximately 25,000 KHR per day to meet her family's needs.

Sambo's group, for which she is the leader, consists of six members who live in the same village. She is a first time borrower with VisionFund. Now she and her group members are applying for a loan of 175,000 KHR each. She is going to use her portion to buy materials for building a decent latrine such as latrine bowl, tile draining etc. She hopes this loan will enable her family to have a healthy latrine so as to improve her family's standard of living.
