A loan of $1,500 helped to increase his business merchandise with special hot drink flavors and cups and to increase his stock of watermelons.

Abdallah's story

Abdallah is a 57-year-old married man, the father of six children. He has been working in selling hot drinks since 24 years ago. He used to work as a fisherman, but his family's increasing needs required a wider business with a better daily income. His business is located in a van, which he parks at the side of the main road of his village. Many customers are loyal to him, and passers by provide him with additional income. To make sure that his family members are satisfied, Abdallah has an additional seasonal work: He sells watermelon during the summer season. Today, Abdallah is applying for a loan from Kiva’s partner Al Majmoua in order to develop both businesses. He will increase his business merchandise with special hot drink flavors and cups, in addition to increasing his stock of watermelons and selling them with special prices. Abdallah will work hard to keep on developing his businesses to make sure that his family’s needs are accomplished.
