Asmat is a 37-year-old woman, living in the area of Lahore, Pakistan. She is the mother of 5 children and she is equally responsible for all of them. Her husband owns a welding shop in which he manufactures doors, windows and window panes on demand. He is a professional because he is an experienced welder and has been doing this work for 15 years.

The people of the town appreciate him for his art, and this is the reason he has a lot of orders for manufacturing. However, he does not have enough raw materials now to fill the orders. Asmat requested a loan of Rs. 40,000 for her husband so that he would be able to buy the needed raw materials. Asmat knows that, with the completion of these orders, the earnings will be increased also, which is beneficial for her family.

She hopes that this loan will prove to be productive for her husband's business. She is very thankful to Kiva's field partner, BRAC Pakistan.
