A loan of $875 helped to buy chickens and chicken feed.

María Noemi's story

Señora María is taking out her third loan with her friends and fellow members of the Fe y Alegria [Faith and Joy] group. During their time together, she has been able to establish greater friendships with her peers and neighbours. She lives in the city of Cuenca, a very beautiful place due to its architecture. It is bathed by four rivers that shelter the city. This city is the cradle of writers and artisans. Its gastronomy captures the palates of locals and foreigners alike.
Maria is 37, married, and has five children ages 9, 11, 12, 12, and 18. Her eldest is in high school and her four younger children attend school in the city. Her husband works as a private employee. They received their house as an inheritance.
Maria spends the majority of her time at home taking care of her children and her house. However, in order to cover some of the household costs she raises chickens, which she sells live or plucked.
She will invest this new loan in the purchase of chickens and chicken feed.
Her goal is to have her own home.
