Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Marta Alicia's story

Marta, 57, has been earning a living making and selling piñatas for 10 years; her business is home-based. She has a good clientele because of her good prices and the quality of her products. She uses profits earned from her work and help she gets from her husband to cover some of the household expenses.

Marta is asking for a loan to buy the supplies needed to make piñatas like: colored paper, wire, newsprint, glue, etc. to stay in business and to be able to give her family better quality of life.
