A loan of $1,350 helped to buy farming supplies for her coffee crops.

Doris's story

Thirty-five-year-old Doris is the mother of five children, the head of her household, and has been a farmer for many years with her six years of education. She and her partner work in farming, growing coffee, which has been a family business for generations and which is their means of financial support. Her customers are different buyers that come to the area looking for clean, quality produce. Like everyone, she faces challenges, such as changes in climate, the low market price of coffee, pests, and deteriorating diseases.

However, to avoid these she has asked COMIXMUL for a loan with which she will be able to buy coffee-growing formula, fertilizer, and urea, among other supplies that will help keep her crops free of pests, safe from freezes in weather changes, and protected from diseases such as rust.

Her plans are to reinvest her profits and to expand her coffee plantings, to plant more and better and to make her harvest more attractive to generate income and give her children a better way and quality of life.
