Zohra's Group
In this Group: Zohra, Ruqaiya
Zohra is a 61-year-old woman, living with her spouse and seven children in the area of Lahore, Pakistan. She belongs to a huge family and sometimes it seems very difficult to feed all of them every day. Her husband manufactures plastic bottles, cans and bicycle tires through a compression molding machine. Now her husband has taken an order for manufacturing a new product but he does not have a specific injection-die for manufacturing that product.

Zohra requested a loan of Rs.40,000 from Kiva's field partner BRAC Pakistan so that her husband would be able to buy new injection-die to fill the new order. Zohra is expecting a positive change in her family's life; she wants to establish her family, her dream being to provide better facilities to her children.
She is very pleased after taking this loan and thankful to BRAC Pakistan.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
