Corazones De Turi (Cuenca) Group's story

The credit group Corazones de Turi comprises ten women who live in the parish of Turi in Cuenca. This parish is known for being the city's vantage point. From the top you can see most of the city of Cuenca. Its people work as merchants, raising animals, and farming. They are very hard workers and their main goal is to provide for their families. They are kind and courteous people who still maintain their culture and traditions.

One of the members of this group is María Targelia. She has belonged to the credit group Corazones de Turi for three years. She enjoys her credit group because of the team-spirit there is among all of the members. Their unity and solidarity makes the group more solid.

María Targelia is 45 years old, married, and has four children from her marriage. Her two oldest are already married and live on their own, and her two youngest are sixteen and eight years old. One works and her youngest goes to the local school. Her husband works in construction and they own the small house where they live.

María Targelia spends most of her time taking care of her family, but she is always looking for ways to improve her household's financial stability, which is why she works raising pigs, chickens, Guinea pigs, and cattle. She also farms.

She will invest her new loan in the purchase of chickens, Guinea pigs, feed for her animals, and seeds for her crops.

Her goal is to have more animals to sell.
