A loan of $450 helped to buy dressmaking materials like fabric, thread, buttons, and other items.

Luzmila's story

Luzmila is forty-seven years old and is divorced. She lives in the company of her 23-year-old son in a home that they rent. Luzmila makes a living in making clothing for women, men, and children. She has a workshop in her home, where she has installed a few sewing machines. She learned this trade from an educational trade center. She has been involved in this work for more than sixteen years and has the help of her niece, who she pays weekly for her work.

She likes this activity because it allows her to do something that pleases her; she feels at ease creating new designs.

She hopes to grow her business and, in the future, to open a boutique in this same place. This is her sixth loan with Kiva and she feels thankful for the financial support that she receives in order to move ahead. She also promises to pay her installments on time.

With the requested amount of 1200 soles, she will buy dressmaking materials like fabric, thread, buttons, and other items.
