Although he has received no prior formal education, Emmanuel is an entrepreneur. He specializes in selling poultry in Apewosika (near Cape Coast). He has been involved in this enterprise for 15 years. Emmanuel is married and has five children. His wife works as a trader. The proceeds from his business normally go towards helping his wife cover the family’s general expenses and pay their children’s school fees.
Emmanuel wants to use his loan to increase his current flock, hence allowing him to sell greater quantities of poultry. In the long term, Emmanuel plans to reinvest future profits into his business, thus helping him expand and meet the needs of rising customer demand.
