A loan of $625 helped a member to buy materials for building a decent latrine.

Jom's Group's story

Originally from a rural village of the Moungkol Borey district of Banteay Meanchey province, Jom is a 62-year-old mother of eight children. Rice farming has been the only source for her family’s income to make a living for 30 years. The current business earns her about 28,000 KHR per day and she can manage to save about 12,000 KHR each day after daily expenses.

Jom has been with VisionFund for three cycles. She successfully paid back the past loans which have helped her relieve her family’s burden. Now she is leading her group to ask for a loan. As the leader, she is going to use her portion of the loan to buy materials for building a decent latrine, such as a latrine bowl, tile draining, sewage, etc. Jom hopes this loan will enable her family to have a healthy latrine and improve their standard of living.
