A loan of $575 helped to buy all types of clothing to sell.

Evelyn Nathaly's story

The “Garden of Craftsmanship” Communal Bank meets each 15 days in Montecristi canton, known for its rich pre-colonial culture and its crafts which are recognized at the national and international level. This is the source of the famous “Panama” hats.

In this place lives Evelyn, 21 years old, who maintains a common law union from which she has a 1-year-old daughter. Her husband is a driver. She studies Social Work in a university in Manta.

Evelyn is a hard working young woman who values herself and wants to get ahead, forging a better future for her and her family. In addition to studying for her career in the university, she also sell clothing of all types. Evelyn works every day, selling at the university where she studies and from her house where she has some showcases for demonstrating her clothing. While she goes to class, her mother helps in the shop and lives very close by, helping care for her daughter and her business. Evelyn has sold clothing for 3 years, beginning with the 1st loan she received from the bank.

The present loan is for purchasing all types of clothing. Evelyn has been a member of her Communal Bank for 3 years and she likes it for its loans which are a great help.

Evelyn's dreams are to finish her studies and to have a boutique.
