A loan of $725 helped to buy carts in order to sell ice cream.

Silvia's story

Silvia is 58 years old and she is a very humble woman. She has 4 children but she lives with only 2 of them in the home that she bought 20 years ago. Thanks to her hard-working character, she was able to open an ice cream business in the jungle. She got into an ice cream franchise, and with the help of her daughters, she distributes her products around the city.

She already has 9 employees that sell the ice cream across the country and she says that she feels very fortunate because every day she sells more and more. Very soon she will need to buy more carts. She needs funds so that she can fulfill the orders she has received. Her workshop is in her home so that she doesn't need to pay rent.

This is her first loan from Kiva and she is thankful for the support that she is receiving so that she can continue to get ahead. She promises to comply with the repayment schedule and pay punctually. Silvia will invest 2000 soles in the purchase of carts so that she can sell ice cream.
