A loan of $1,050 helped to buy an orchard's worth of apricot trees.

Homida's story

Khomida is a hardworking woman of 60, married and with one child. Her husband raises livestock. Khomida learned to sew traditional Tajik men's "chapan" robes when she was young. She is very skilled with her hands. She sews precisely and has her own customers at the market where she sells her creations. She wants to improve their living conditions by earning more money by renting garden space and growing and processing apricots. She will then sell the dried apricots ("kuraga") at the local market. Her husband will help her run the new business. She is requesting a loan in the amount of 5000 somoni to buy an orchard's worth of apricot trees. She awaits your kind assistance. This loan will help her obtain a new source of income.
