A loan of $2,075 helped to buy cows.

Saltanat's story

Saltanat is 29 years old, married and has four children, all daughters. After graduating high school with a diploma, Saltanat married at a young age. Since 2005, she has worked in agriculture and livestock, starting her business with 1,000 KGS. Saltanat's spouse is a shepherd, herding the animals belonging to the people in their village. Thanks to Saltanat's hard work, today she has many animals: two dairy cows, two calves, and ten sheep. She also has .43 hectares of irrigated land, and an additional allotment of .22 hectares. The profits from her efforts allow Saltanat to breed her animals and improve her family's circumstances. With the goal of further business growth, she has turned to the microfinance bank Bai Tushum and Partners for a loan of 100,000 KGS to buy dairy cows. The income provided by the loan will go towards expanding her herd.
