Jyldyzkan's story

Jyldyzkan is 37 years old, married and has four children (two sons and two daughters). She is a nurse by profession and works at the birth and delivery center. In search of an additonal income for her family, Jyldyzkan started to breed livestock and got involved in farming in 1999, having started this business with a sum of 15,000 som (KGS). The family's monthly profit is 8,000 som (KGS). Her husband is a construction worker and helps with the household business. To-date, Jyldyzkan was able to develop her farming business and have her own farm. Her farm contains two dairy cows, three bulls and twenty sheep, and also has 2.40 hectares of irrigated land, where she annually grows beans. In order to further grow her farming and animal husbandry business, Jyldyzkan requested a loan in the amount of 70,000 som (KGS) from the Microfinance Bank "Bai-Tushum and Partners" to buy one bull and nine sheep. She plans to invest the earnings from the loan into further increasing livestock quantities on her farm and educating her children.
