A loan of $1,500 helped to buy fishing nets.

Gonzalo's story

Gonzalo, 37, is married and has five children, ages 16, 14, 12, and 10 who attend school. He is a fisherman and lives on Lake Titicaca Island, a tourist center in the department of La Paz where the public can buy reed or wool crafts. Most of the inhabitants of the island are involved in fishing or tourism. This is his first loan through the institution and Gonzalo plans to use it to buy fishing nets. He wants to increase his fishing activity and working capital.

Gonzalo must face challenges such as increasing production and using his profits to continue improving his work situation since this is the only source of income for his family. Gonzalo is a very hard worker who is happy because of this opportunity.
