A loan of $1,675 helped a member to purchase cosmetics for resale at her business.

Damas Unidas Group's story

Dora Liseth is 22 years old and is a single mother to her young son. She was only able to complete three years of high school, but she works very hard to support her son by operating a cosmetics sales business. She sells her products through catalogs, and started her business three years ago while helping a friend in a similar endeavor.

The "Damas Unidas" (United Women) group pictured above came together with the common goal of supporting each other's business endeavors and leveraging the opportunities of a loan to grow and strengthen their respective businesses. In Dora Liseth's case, she plans to use the support from this loan to purchase health and beauty merchandise to stock her business and fill client orders. The other group members make a living selling cosmetics, selling clothing, operating a convenience store and making and selling tortillas.
