Marguérite's Group's story

This group has three members, who all live in the same neighborhood. The group’s representative is called Marguérite, and is pictured with her hand raised in the photo. She is 57 years of age, and never attended school. She no longer lives with her husband, but is a mother to two children who are no longer under her care. Her children are not at school.

Marguérite lives alone, and is solely responsible for providing for herself. To do this, she works selling various products via the distribution system, such as eggs, rice and sugar, and has done so for about 30 years. She gets her supplies from a market in Bénin.

In order to increase her turnover and meet customer demand, Marguérite has joined the other members of her group to request their first loan from ALIDé.
