Thoeurn's Group's story

Thoeurn is 52 years old and villager from Kampong Cham province’s Prey Chhor district, where agribusiness is running. She supports her family through rice paddy cultivation and working for others for a fee. Having been with this business for 21 years, she is able to generate about 23,600 KHR per day.

Thoeurn, a third-time borrower, join with a fourth-cycle borrower to apply for a new loan from VisionFund (Kiva’s partner). The past loan - which she has fully repaid back - allowed her to uplift her living conditions better than before. Moreover, she afforded to buy household appliances including a table and TV for her family.

In this cycle, she and her co-borrower are seeking 500,000 KHR each. As the leader, she will spend her loan portion to buy fertilizer, rice seed, and pay for the leasing fee. She hopes that she can gain a high yield that is better than last year.
