A loan of $450 helped to buy chickens and food for the animals.

Dolores Emperatriz's story

This is Ms. Dolores’s second loan with the credit group Sector 3 Marías. She lives around the parish of Turi in Cuenca, an area that is rich in green fields because of its rugged terrain. The people struggle and are very hardworking. They work in various activities, such as agriculture, sales, and raising animals. They also maintain the culture and traditions of their villages.

Ms. Dolores is 40 years old. She is a single mother of three children, ages 21, 19, and 17. Her eldest daughter is married and lives independently. Her younger two children study and work. She does not have her own house, so they live in a relative’s house.

Ms. Dolores has worked as a part time domestic employee for some years. She also raises chickens and guinea pigs in her house, in addition to caring for her family.

She is going to use her new loan to buy chickens and food for the animals.

Her goal is to have more chicken sheds in order to grow her business.
