A loan of $375 helped to purchase organic fertilizer for her crops.

Victoria's story

Victoria is 49 years old, is divorced and has 5 children who live with her in her house which is constructed of quality material. Victoria makes her living in agriculture on 2 acres of farm land she inherited from her father where she has grows cocoa and other products that go in to making bread. To earn good profits from her work she needs to grow a good quality of her produce by the end of the season, which is why she frequently purchases organic fertilizer.

She likes her work very much because she considers it very calm and she can recover the money invested by selling her products to the wholesalers in the area. When it rains it complicates her work because she cannot move around her land as easily because of the mud which prevents her from getting work done like normal. For a long time she has wished to start growing organic coffee which has a good price in her region. This is why she plans to acquire more land in the future to be devoted to growing coffee.

This is her third loan with Kiva and she appreciates the financial support she receives to keep moving forward with her business. This time she is requesting 1,000 Peruvian Nuevos Soles to buy organic fertilizer to fertilize her farmland.
