A loan of $3,300 helped a member to purchase supplies for making food.

Abejitas Trabajadoras Group's story

The communal bank “Abejitas Trabjadoras” is composed of nine members, all of whom are women. The president of the communal bank is Elizabeth. She is 34 years old and married with five children. She makes a living by selling food from her stall in the zone of Villa Ingenio, where she lives. This is her first loan cycle with the institution. Elizabeth will use this loan to wholesale purchase food-making supplies, such as potatoes, rice, and noodles. In this way she will be able to increase her sales and increase her working capital. Her reason for requesting this loan is her lack of capital to purchase supplies. Elizabeth is going to use the money to continue buying supplies in bulk. Elizabeth’s wish is to grow in her business. Elizabeth is a hard-working person. She feels happy and grateful to the institution for the support they are giving her by granting this loan.
