Ruth's story

Ruth is 40 years old and lives at in the West Point area, which has the most populated market in Montserrado County. She is single and has two children ages 25 and 21. Her children are in school and live at home. She said that all her days she has not been to school. She described herself as a caring mother.

For the past four years Ruth has been operating her own shop where she sells slippers in the local market. She spends 8 hours a day on her business. She likes her business because she has a lot of customers. She started this business with money given to her by mother. Most of the time she use a taxi to get her stocks for her shop.

Ruth is requesting a loan to purchase slippers for her business. She plans is to build a house and educate her children. She likes to say thanks to the lenders who support BRAC Liberia.
