A loan of $1,175 helped to register her business, purchase office equipment and supplies, and begin investing in marketing materials.

Sandra's story

Originally from Jamaica, Sandra is starting a healthcare consultancy firm to provide her clients with more information about health care.“I decided to start my own business because I have an inherent interest in healthcare administration,” says Sandra. She goes on to explain her vision: “I see a need to deliver quality service in this field. I believe I can deliver that quality service while changing and improving lives.”

She will provide consulting services to individuals and businesses alike. These services will focus on advice as to different insurance options and how to remain within local and federal guidelines. She will also assist individuals with determining the best insurance product for them.

This loan will help Sandra to incorporate/register her business, to purchase office equipment and supplies, and begin investing in marketing materials.

Sandra lives happily with her husband and three children. As for her future aspirations, Sandra states, “I hope to obtain government contacts as well as grants to assist in growing my business. I also hope to educate the public on the new healthcare law that will be implemented in October of this year. In growing my business, I expect to begin hiring employees to assist in scaling up the business. Personally, I expect to become successfully not just in business but by continuing to raise healthy and happy children, who will make positive contributions to society.”
