A loan of $375 helped to buy cell phone parts.

Cesar's story

Cesar, 37, is married to Arita, who is a merchant and the mother of their three children, ages 20, 18, and 10, who live with him in his house. Cesar repairs all brands of cell phones. Every morning he heads to his small stand in the local market. He started this business because he needed a profession that would allow him to earn enough income to pay household expenses and his children's education and to set his own work schedule. On the other hand, it's inconvenient when customers don't pick up their repaired phones on time, as he has to store them in his small space. This doesn't discourage him; he keeps working and has plans to keep growing his business. This is his second loan cycle with Kiva, and he is grateful for the funding to keep making progress. He also promises to make his payments on time. He will use the loan of 1000 nuevos soles to buy cell phone parts at better prices.
