A loan of $750 helped to buy agricultural supplies for her coffee crop.

Yolanda's story

Yolanda, 39, has been working in agriculture from a very young age because it’s her family tradition and also her source of income for her family in general. Her family is very numerous; she has 7 children four of which attend various grades in secondary school, two are in elementary school and the youngest is only a year old. She and her husband head out to their fields to care for their coffee crop; they’ve also been working as beekeepers for five years producing honey. The hives are located in the mountains 40 minutes from home. She learned this activity from her parents who she thanks for the support and effort they exerted during her youth so that she could complete primary school.

Yolanda is asking Comixmul for a loan to improve her coffee crop and to provide maintenance for it with pruning, fertilizing, weeding and providing manure so that at the end of the season she will obtain an excellent harvest.

Her goals are to be able to safeguard her coffee crop from infestations and to keep it healthy because it’s a source of family income. Her dreams are to see her children graduate from university with beneficial careers and to build and improve the estate she's creating which in future will be theirs so they can better manage it and take it to another level.
