A loan of $550 helped to buy food preparation ingredients.

Marina's story

Marina, 38, is single living with her parents and her two children in the house her parents built a long time ago. Marina works selling food. She sets up tables and her stove every weekend in front of her house to sell all the dishes she’s prepared for her customers’ enjoyment. Many people come by her stand to satisfy their need for nourishment enjoying tasty dishes like grilled meat, ‘parrilladas’ [mixed grills], etc. At the same time she takes advantage of the opportunity to sell refreshing beverages and sometimes various flavored carbonated soft-drinks.

She’s been in this line of work for two years and does very well because she has many customers and profits are considerable. She hopes to continue working and later on open her own restaurant to continue providing her clientele with the best and with more variety. For now, though, she wants to upgrade her kitchen area with better utensils.

On this occasion she will ask for 1,500 soles. She’s very happy with the financial support she’s being given to continue in business. She commits to make all her payments punctually. She will use the amount requested to buy all the ingredients like rice, oil, condiments and others needed to prepare the dishes.
