Anna's Group's story

This group is composed of seven women, united by good social and economic relationships. Anna is the group representative; she is 44, married, and the mother of four children, two sons and two daughters, aged 22, 19, 17, and 11. She sells shoes, boubous (wide African robes) and perfume. She goes to a neighboring country to buy her merchandise and after going through customs, comes home to sell her goods.

She does very well at this and her strong point is the fact that she knows a lot of people and knows how to negotiate to recoup her money. With her loan she intends to buy 50 pairs of shoes for boys for 175,000 f; 50 pairs of shoes for girls for 100,000 f, and 20 boubous made of dyed damask for 250,000 f. With her profit she pays her children's school fees and helps her husband with family expenses.
