A loan of $200 helped to buy fertilizer and seeds as well as maize and beans to sell.

Jane's story

Jane is a 38-year-old woman with an eight-year-old child. For the past five years, she has operated a farm where she grows and sells maize, beans, and bananas. Jane describes herself as trustworthy. Her business is located in an area conducive for business and her primary customers are local businesspeople. Jane's biggest business challenge is the scarcity of goods to sell.

Jane is requesting a 15,000 KES loan to buy farm inputs such as fertilizer and seeds as well as maize and beans to sell. This is her first loan with SMEP DTM. Her business goal is to expand and open a store within five years. Jane hopes that, in the future, she will be self independent.
